TikTok's bookmark keeps the video, not the place. After a few months of saving, you have a long list of videos and no idea which café was in which one. To plan a trip you need the places on a map. Here are the ways to get them there.
Keep the videos in TikTok collections
Tap the bookmark on a video to add it to your Favorites, then sort your favorites into collections, for example one per city. This keeps the videos together, which helps. But there is no map, and you still have to open each video to find out what the place is called.
Save each place in Google Maps lists
Find the place name (our guide on finding the location of a TikTok video shows how), search it in Google Maps, tap Save and pick a list. Make one list per trip. Your list shows every place as a pin, and you can share it with the people you travel with.
This works on any phone and is free. The cost is time: you look up and save each place by hand, and the list doesn't remember which video the place came from.
Use Apple Maps guides
On an iPhone, Apple Maps can do the same thing with guides. Search the place and add it to a guide from its place card. Guides are shown on the map and can be shared.
Or let the places come from the video
TokTravel is an iPhone app built for exactly this. Share a travel TikTok to TokTravel, or paste its link. If the video's caption or description names a place, the app finds it on a map and shows you the places it found. Tap Save on the ones you want and they go to your map and your lists, each one remembering the video it came from.
Then you can group your places by country, city or type, plan a trip by day, and open a place in Google Maps from its page. A match can be wrong, so check it before you rely on it. If a video doesn't name the place, add it yourself.
Which one to use
If you travel a few times a year and save a handful of places, Google Maps lists are enough. If you save dozens of travel videos and never get round to looking them up, that is the gap TokTravel is made for. On Android, use Google Maps lists: TokTravel is iPhone only for now.
